Rna Synthesis in Chromosome Connectives

چکیده

Connections between chromosomes have been observed and described by numerous investigators (1-10). They have been seen with the light microscope (I, 2, 6, 7, 10), the transmission electron microscope (3-5, 8), and the scanning electron microscope (9). In addition, surface specializations (side arms, loops, whiskers) have been observed on chromosomes by a number of researchers who have employed a variety of cytological techniques (1014). This paper describes interand intrachromo-

O-35: Over-Expression of XRCC1 As Potential Biomarker for Poor Prognosis in Human Preimplantation Embryos: Selection by Study of 84 Genes Involved in DNA Damage Signaling Pathways

Background: Chromosome abnormalities are associated with poor morphology and development in human preimplantation embryos, all together lead to poor outcomes. This study aimed to explore altered expression of DNA damage pathways in “poor morphological and development embryos with sever aneuploidies”. Materials and Methods: Surplus day-4 embryos of PGD cases were pooled in two groups: Poor progn...

Genetic modulation of RNA metabolism in Drosophilia. I. Increased rate of ribosomal RNA synthesis.

It has been suggested that a particular Y chromosome which is rDNA-deficient (YbbSuVar-5) may be associated with an increased utilization of rDNA template in adult testes (Shermoen and Kiefer 1975). To extend the observations on this chromosome, experiments were designed to determine if the chromosome has an effect on rRNA synthesis in bobbed adults and on classic bobbed phenotypes (shortened a...

Truth Values and Connectives in Some Non-Classical Logics

The question as to whether the propositional logic of Heyting, which was a formalization of Brouwer's intuitionistic logic, is finitely many valued or not, was open for a while (the question was asked by Hahn). Kurt Gödel (1932) introduced an infinite decreasing chain of intermediate logics, which are known nowadays as Gödel logics, for showing that the intuitionistic logic is not finitely (man...

Synthetic Activities during Spermatogenesis in the Locust

Isolated testes of the locust Schistocerca gregaria were immersed in solutions of tritiated thymidine, cytidine, uridine, or arginine for short periods to study nucleic acid and protein synthesis during spermatogenesis. DNA synthesis in this tissue is completed prior to initiation of meiosis. Protein synthesis continues throughout the whole meiotic cycle as well as during spermatid development....

Synthetic Capacities of Chromosome Fragments Correlated with Their Ability to Maintain Nucleolar Material

Onion (Allium cepa) and bean (Vicia faba) root tip cells containing many micronuclei, derived from x-ray-induced chromosome fragments, were exposed to H(3)-thymidine and H(3)-cytidine to determine the ability of such fragments to undergo DNA and RNA synthesis. Only a few micronuclei in onion and many in bean roots synthesize nucleic acid simultaneously with their main nuclei. A few micronuclei ...
